For now the trailer is being shipped on to Malaysia too, last I heard, Dan was unsucessfull getting a suitable replacement axle, so he may have to look for one in malaysia. Fortunately, its that area of the world where he has done most of he previous travelling, and as such can communicate much better there.

Since the other day, I have just recieved a journal and photos from Dan, who is now in Thailand, having opted to leave out India altogether, and spend longer in South East Asia. While Rowan and Gabby have opted to go to Nepal and spend 7 weeks there, as their honeymoon.
The shipping ended up being a bit more expensive than we thought, as the "allin" price was excluding lashing the thing, and having it sealed by customs as it was a vehicle. It was about $300 more than I was quoted, but in the end, that split 3 ways wasn't too crippling.
I hope to get Oliver to update the Journals and add the photos, but I can't promise anything, he is unfortunately out of reach!

After breaking again in the jungle in Malaysia, the trailer axle is now repaired, and the axle itself has been replaced with one from a Land Rover, this is obviously much stronger than the existing axle, but it required major modification of the brakes. The brakes now work on a hydraulic system, as opposed to the cables, it is good because they no longer need tightening every 5 minutes, but if they break, are quite a bit more complex to repair. We are, however, confident in this repair, and are sure it will hold for the remainder of the expedition.
No photos as yet of the axle, but when they come in, I will post them here. Dan has headed north into Thailand today, and should be near the border. We expect him to meet up with the rest of the team before the end of the month.
