It certainly is! I hope to be joining the main expedition team around india and pakistan, as I have arranged for a close friend of mine to be a guide in these regions. Uni is indeed the problem, as I am doing a masters degree at the same time as the trip.
I will certainly keep you abreast of any major changes, and will keep a close eye on your trip as it unfolds.
Best of Luck in your planning and travels,
Nick and the rest of the Lone Wolf team

Hey Ollie/Jenny Nice site. Turns out I'm actually familiar with "Biggles" in her former life - now Dino - as I followed a bit of Richard & Camilla's adventures on kenningtontocapetown.com. You may notice the similarity to our website www.southwardbound.co.uk Also had a look at lonewolftransglobal this morning Quite a famous vehicle you have there Nick, was it the same one in the July LRM mag or one of its siblings?
We too are hitting Ireland (hopefully) at the end of the month for 3-4 days and then on to Scotland for 6-7 days. When are you 2 going to be there, Ollie? Maybe keep an eye out for us?
Pitty you can't make this weekend too - look out for updates on the web
Been good to be your 2'nd or is it 3rd? official guest!
Cheers
Rob

Hi Rob! Yes as soon as I went to your website I recognised the layout. I'd followed Richard and Camilla ever since they had mentioned that Biggles might be for ssale. we did think about using that hsot ourselves, but decided to do it ourselves - we need something to do to fill in the two years!
We go to Ireland on 24th for a wedding in Wexford. We stay until the Monday when we head off for a tour of the Island... below is copied and pasted the itinary I was emaoiled. its not 100% set in stone....
Monday = Travel to Kiss the Blarney Stone in Blarney, Co. Cork, Stay in Cork.
Tuesday = The Ring of Kerry, Kenmare Co. Kerry, Dingle, Kerry, Tralee, Co. Kerry, Stay somewhere in Co. Kerry.
Wednesday = Travel to Galway, may need to stop off along the way?? Stay in Galway City for a party night.
Thursday = Travel to Connemara, Co. Galway, Aran Islands, Co. Galway, Bundoran, Co. Donegal, Horn Head, Co. Donegal. head up to Donegal and stay there
Friday = travel to the Giants Causeway and then to Banbridge Or start heading back down through Co. Meath etc to Dublin.
If you are up for meeting up at any point that would be great ..... perhaps send me an email to sort out the finer details.

OK, maybe see you in Ireland then, Ollie? We should be going over to Rosslare/Wexford on 25th. Not hanging around too long though - probably leaving 26th up to Giants causeway via Galway and a few other stops en-route! No time to go south to Kerry or Cork this timeb (have been before, it is excellant, especially Dingle!) Will try and make plans to meet up closer to the time
Cheers

Hi Rob, Our wolf is not the one in the LRM magazine, but one of its sisters. Your website looks excellent by the way. Where abouts in London are you based, we may bump into each other before we go, or on the way to Western Africa.
Hi Ollie, My family is from Dungarven in Co. Cork, its a wonderful place! I hope you have a great time touring Ireland!

We're based between Croydon in South London, Bristol and Oslo in Norway. But the vehicle is with Daniel in South London.
Going down to the Dunsfold Show this weekend, which will be fun! trying to get at least 3 of the Gold wolves together, including the Expedition Athena one, which was the one which was in LRM magazine.

Hi Rob, Glad you enjoyed your trip, and looking forward to the updates. Yes we're back. Also had a great time, although we did have to overcome some problems, but these were mainly regarding our travel plans and people we were going to travel with. It seems most of my friends now suffer some sort of illness that prevents them from camping! (myself included ) The main issue with regards our trip planning was our rooftent leaking. We can hopefully fix this with some canvas waterproofing and an extra couple of poles. We aiming to get this done in the next couple of weeks, and testing it out in Cornwall in October. I'm hoping to update the blog this weekend, so you'll see full details then. Although I think most of my photos are of me drunk, unconscious on the floor! Sorry we didn't manage to hook up at any point, but the schedule became more and more skewed as the days went on. It ended up with us taking one person in the back the whole way round Ireland!! She said it was most comfy ;D Lets hope we do manage to hook up at some point though .....

Hello again, Thought I'd update you on the progress of the Lone Wolf Expedition. The team are now in Esfehan in central Iran, having travelled through Europe and Turkey. They will be travelling Eastwards to Pakistan in the next two weeks. Daniel has sent back his journals and photos, which can be seen on our journals page. I have also uploaded all the photos Dan has sent me onto photobucket. The team have had a great time until now, but are quite anxious about the next stage through the Beluchistan desert, where the war has flared up recently. The wolf is being featured in next months Land Rover International Magazine, and we hope to get further features. I will keep you updated on major changes and events. Thanks for your continued support, and good luck with your planning for your trip. Nick and the Lone Wolf team

Apologies for the quiteness! I can only blame Oliver for living up to his reputation! A few things have been happening, and probably the most significant is a rather major change to the route. Daniel had asked me to look into the possiblility of travelling through Myanmar (Burma), which is impossible. However, I was told that there may be a possiblity if we had official business with the UN. We didn't really fancy sending the team into a civil war to discuss terms, and as the team were coming round to the idea that china was far too much money just to see the new motorway, shipping was the only option. Then Daniel asked me to look into the cost of shipping in India compared to the cost in Pakistan, somehow, it looks like it will be $700 cheaper in Pakistan. What may now happen, is the vehicle will be put into a container in Lahore, and sent to Karachi, where it will be put onto a ship for Port Klang in Malaysia. While this is in transit, the team will travel around India and more importantly Nepal by bus and foot. Then flying to Kuala Lumpur 3 weeks later to pick up the wolf and trailer. Oliver has yet to put the photos onto the website, but in the mean time, here are some of the better ones. All the photos from the expedition are here and hereNick

Ahh seems like they're keeping you busy in your role! Great photos as well. I suppose it makes sense to be flexible and have a plan B (and C .....). The China question is one of the main dilemmas on a RTW, or perhaps I should say on that particular leg of a RTW trip.
So what is happening with the trailer? Is that being shipped on?
