It was very good indeed, I put a fairly full outline of the events of the last couple of months on the
difflock forum, so you will have to forgive my laziness in not putting a full reply here.
I am extremely impressed by your latest addition to your website, the clickable vehicle section. I am trying to get Oliver to create something practically identical for our website.
The Wolf has been running pretty well, but the effect of what we are exposing the wolf to is beginning to take its toll, and we broke both the front shock mounts in Thailand, after welding on brand new replacements, we were unimpressed to snap another in Mexico.
We have also worn down the ball joint pivots on the differentials, which was difficult to obtain spares for.
This is a picture of the brake pads, which we replaced in Mexico city, as you can see, there was nothing left, and would definitely recommend adding a full set to your spares, and taking brand new (run in) ones before you go.
Oh, thought you might like this one too... We were looking for a campsite near Los Mochis in Western Mexico, unfortunately, we were having no luck, so stopped in a Motel, in hope we might be able to camp in their carpark. They said this was not possible, but they had secure parking garages outside the rooms, where the room was at the end of the garage. Daniel looked at the room, and at $16 dollars for the night, was cheap, and looked ok.
As we drove in, we noticed a few girls by the door, but Dan reassured us that practically every hotel in the world was the same, and having seen a few hotels with prostitutes outside, I saw nothing wrong with his statement. As we drove up to the room Dan was shown, the owner came up and said... "no no! that is the executive suite, yours is the standard room, down here" he led us down to a garage a bit further down.
As we parked up, we saw, to our amusement, a pole in the room, looking around, next to the TV was a list of the porn channels, and above the bed was a mirror, suddenly, a smell hit us, we all recognised it as sex, looking around more, there was a tissue dispenser next to the bed, and the pricelist next to the bed was for various services availiable from the girls.
We couldn't stay in there. I had my fiancee in the back, and were sure that we could bribe our way into camping in a car park for the night, besides, we could probably catch something.. Even Daniel was horrified, and insisted that it was totally different from the one he saw. As we left, the owner came up to us, looking worried.. "what is wrong?", "We are just going to get some food" we replied, unable to tell the truth to this man, he insisted that he could order some to be delivered for us, but we insisted back, and left.
Further down the road, we came across a Burger King, and were able to sleep there for the night.
Below is a photo of the room,
Dan is currently in Guatemala, having met up with at least 6 and cooked for 4 expeditions outside Tikal.
Hope things are progressing well in the Jollyfollies camp.
